GM Diet Vegetarian

The GM diet is a seven-day plan that involves a sequential consumption of fruits, vegetables, starch and meat. While it has grown popular as a diet fad, this diet at the same time has benefited different types of health buffs and diet enthusiasts and not to mention hardcore vegetarians and vegans.

Vegetarian Version Of the GM Diet

The typical GM Diet requires you to eat meat as part of the diet plan. Obviously this is not an option for strict vegetarians and vegans. This is why you have a slightly modified version, one that is completely vegetarian version of the same GM Diet.

The vegetarian version of GM Diet plan is used by vegetarians and vegans not only as a form of weight loss but as a maintenance method to keep the body slim and proportional. It is also great way to practice eating vegetables and limited amounts of meat until such time that the person on the diet finally gets rid of all meat and eggs in his or her system.

GM Diet Vegetarian Preparation

To prepare for the vegetarian GM diet plan it is important not to consume alcohol a few days before and during the diet schedule. This is because alcohol increases the body’s uric acid content which in turn leads to water retention and blocks the natural detoxifying processes from taking place.

Drinking up to 10 glasses of water is recommended for GM diet practitioners. Since they will not be consuming as much carbohydrates as they normally do, water would serve as their main source of energy throughout the day. Water also speeds up metabolic processes in the body and through this the unwanted pounds can be eliminated naturally.

To those who have already been through this diet plan, it is advised to take a 2-3 day break away before resuming the method. This is to allow the body to fully adjust to its new nutritional intake system and not get overwhelmed with the sudden change of events.

Schedule for GM Diet Vegetarian

Similar to the typical GM Diet, the vegetarian version of GM diet also requires you to follow a seven-day schedule

  • Day 1. Only fruits. Just like in the regular GM diet, only fruits are allowed to be consumed on the first day. All fruits can be consumed in generous quantities except for bananas, as they are high in carbohydrates and potassium. Water intake should also be observed at 10-12 glasses during the whole day.
  • Day 2. The second day involves potato and vegetables. A cup of baked potato would serve as the body’s main energy source for the day, and then it can be followed up with vegetable dishes during lunch and dinner. Vegetable soup is highly powerful during this day, as it provides all the energy the body would need.
  • Day 3. Fruit and vegetables. Fruits and vegetables may be served the whole day, from breakfast to dinner, including midday snacks. Fruit juice can also be taken aside from water, although no bananas or potatoes are allowed.
  • Day 4. Bananas and milk. Banana and milk combos may be consumed all day, with vegetable soup servings during lunch and dinner. Banana and milk may be taken in the form of shakes, during breakfast and midday snacks.
  • Day 5. White rice or brown rice or legumes and tomatoes. Instead of beef, rice or legumes is used on Day 5. One cup of rice is good to last for the day together with tomatoes in order to induce cleansing. Also each meat replacement meal needs GOOD FAT like ghee, olive oil or butter.
  • Day 6. White rice or brown rice or legumes with good fat and vegetables. On this day mixed vegetables may be consumed all day, together with one cup of rice.
  • Day 7. Up to two cups of white rice or brown rice or legumes with good fat may be consumed, together with fruit and vegetable servings.

By the end of Day 7, you should be feeling much lighter and look more glowing. This is because the detoxification effects have already taken place and the body has already shed off at least 2-3 kg or about 10 lbs.

    • Hi, today is my 5th day of diet and I have lost 2 kgs. though I m very happy but was targeting for total 5 kgs. I am following the diet very strictly. but what happens when I cook something for family I take a bite or two to taste as it satisfies my inner desire to eat normal food. I know it is not ok but wanted to check will affect me adversely?
      Also on 5th day when we have to eat 1 bowl of rice , I bowl means raw or cooked rice?

I’m 17 basically and i wish to lose around 3-4kgs! it took me a lot of time to gain the will power of doing this and i finally completed the fruit day! I just had 1 banana and 5 almonds and also I did a bit of exercise! Is it bad or manageable? Please reply asap! Can i continue ?

      • 1 bowl of cooked rice…take 1 cup of raw rice which comes to be 1 bowl of cooked rice..sounds very less..hence, drink plenty of water to keep u satisfied

      For my fifth day, can I have this?

      Breakfast : 3 boiled eggs, with 2 tomatoes raw.
      Lunch : 1 bowl of rice with 3 tomatoes and cucumber
      Dinner : Paneer/Cottage cheese with tomatoes.

      Lots of water of course..
      Also, can I follow the same meal plan for 6th day and please suggest if any alteration is needed for 6th and 7th day as well. Thanks.

          I am following GM diet, i m on my 4th day today (banana n milk day). As mentioned in the diet plan i am not feeling hungry like i was feeling for last three days. But when ppl around me eat delicious food (Pakoda’s samosa etc) i feel very tempted. BUt i did not give up my diet

          what is it after 7days.????
          I have heard ppl telling that “you will loose weight for sure in GM diet but you will gain back the same once you start eating”
          so i m really worried…..
          I know if ppl start hogging everything which they did not eat during this diet later then they will surely gain weight (than before)

  5. Hi I was just wondering, since beef in this diet is for protein, can it be substituted for Egg whites or the non fried soya burger patties available in many supermarkets around the world? I feel a bit guilty since I had 4-5 quarter pounders of such patties yesterday. Is wonder soup an important element of the diet? And does one just shed water weight in this diet like some websites have published or is it something that one can maintain by eating healthy consistently?

    • The wonder soup is just to break the monotony of fruits or vegetables or whatever at the end of the day.
      GM diet is not just a water-shedded-weight loss. There is no mention of restricting the water intake on any day. How can one lose only water if we are consuming at least 10-14 glasses of water every day, added with the unlimited quantity of soup and the water contained in the melons, fruits and vegetables? It basically acts on the principle of ‘negative calorie foods’ where you are consuming certain foods that demand more calories to burn themselves than what they provide themselves. High-fiber food stuffs you but doesn’t provide the required calories, instead demands more calories to burn themselves, which is derived from the stored energy-deposits.

    I have been following this plan from past 3 weeks. I have some questions. Please reply.

    1. How many times we can follow this program?
    2. What should be the gap in between?
    3. I have not reduced much weight whic was 97 kg in the begining and now is 94 kg, but my waist size has reduced a lot which was 42″ in the start and now is 37″, also I have started getting compliments now that I am looking slimmer. Please tell me why my wieght is not reducing less?
    4. Do I need to have Banana and milk together or can they be taken differently?
    5. Do brown rice or cottage cheese provide same amount of protien as of Beef?

    • Hi Kanwaljit great u r able to follow for 3 weeks m tryn to start this diet plan tmrw onwards tried 3 times before could not do it can v hav tea n small amount of sprouts. N yes i had doule chin i exrcised a bit with neck n stopped havn pillow.

    • 1. You are supposed to give atleast a break of 2 weeks between two diets.
      2. In between have food that contains more fat and calories. If you are an India, you can have dry phulka or roti. Olive oil can be used but in very less quantity.
      3. The minimum weight loss is 5 kgs and maximum weight loss is 8kgs. So, you got to be happy because you have followed diet properly and you can always repeat GM diet after giving a healthy gap between 2 diets.
      4. I am right now on GM Diet and on 3rd day. Tomorrow is a day of Banana and milk. Unfortunately, I don’t like both. There is a south Indian dish called ‘Rasayana’ which is prepared by mixing milk, banana and sugar. it’s delicious. But in place of sugar, one can add sugar free tablets and have it. I am sure you will love it!
      5. As I am a vegetarian, I don’t really have a clue about beef.

    today is my 3rd day of gm diet and iam having 3times meal.. is it necessary to have meal along with snaks or we can just hv 3time meal.. and then i wanted to know can we have restaurant cooked roasted chicken instead of beef as i dont eat beef.. and if yes then in what quantities.. plz tell asap.. and 1 more thing can we use salt.. i have not had salt since my diet started.. so can we have it.. if not then how to have chicken.. as i do not have any problem in quitting salt.. i jst want my weight reduced daz it.. plz reply asap..

      Probably you are not following the diet properly. Eat what you are supposed to eat. Strictly avoid Restaurant food. If you don’t follow diet properly, you will end up gaining more weight than you were before. So, just take care because all these days of efforts should not go vain.
      Use salt as less as possible.

      As i said earlier, if you change even a bit of diet chart plan, you will end up gaining more weight. Follow it strictly!

      Like you, I am a coffee addict. According to GMD, one cup of coffee / tea is allowed. You can have half a cup in d morn and half in d evening. This is what I am doing 🙂

    Yesterday i finished 7 days of this diet.
    I am very very happy, i reduced 5kg that too just due this diet, no workout.
    Everyone should go for this diet not just to reduce weight, but there is awsome feeling after this diet.
    This diet changes your habits as well, as before this diet i used to drink hardly 1ltr water in a day.
    But after this diet i am drinking daily about 4ltr.

        • 100% of all diets, no matter which 1, if you don’t make a lifestyle change likely so. Now you seem to have a low goal. So maybe too much extra weight is not a problem so you may be OK then. Factors like this vary greatly per person, age, male or female and any other underlying health issues. One thing this diet is, it’s nutrient dense and all natural 🙂

    • If you don’t maintain the wight loss, the weight will bounce back. Stick to low fat and low calorie foods. Eat Dry chapathi with gravy prepared with less oil (Olive oil preferred)

    GM diet rocks. I am 40+ and I lost 6kg and almost one inch in a week time without any workout. I continued it to 5weeks and lost 17kg and 4inches. I was 130kg with 44″ waist and now I am 40″. Since lot to do to reach my goal of 36″ & 90KG.

    Watermelons and cantaloupe are best fruits to shred weight n fat as they help you for water retention. I always priortize them during fruity days. If you want other fruits, combine them with oranges, apples & grapefruits. (Avoid grapes, peaches, pineapple & mangoes as they contain rich amount of sugar)

    Day 4 is very important as I have noticed that most of the persons tries to escape bananas and milk. 6 – 8 bananas and almost one liter of milk is required this perticular day. It cover the loss of potassium and the sodium which you missed during 3days, so don’t avoid it. You can consume them as combo (banana shake) or otherwise too. Soup also plays an important role. Drink as many time as you can and without any limit.

    Eat vegetables raw or cooked (without oil). In case you really want, use one tea spoon of Olive oil. Again I would say, try to avoid usage of oil during entire period you are following this plan.

    Alongwith the diet I took organic green tea which helped me to lose weight and give me refreshing feeling throughout day. But remember, no sugar and no milk.

    For fresh mind and body, it is always good to eat vegetables, but, for people who can eat meat will lose faster as red meat take time to digest therefore you will not feeling hungry soon. If replace Beaf with Mutton (lean meat). Chicken will not give you optimum results.

    You can do it as many times as you can but between next cycle keep of gap of 2 – 3days. During gap days I love to eat grilled chicken or mutton kababs with brown bread.

    Hats off to this diet.

    Contemplating on doing this GM Diet soon…..Read all the comments and this diet does seem impressive, I have tried this GM diet long back and reduced 2 kgs after 7 days (not a big drop, still encouraging), but after that my food craving increased many fold and I gained more that what I lost in no time…hence skeptical about doing it again all these while…but now, I am driven to the point of undertaking this diet again, as my weight loss venture is giving no results in the last 2 months and I feel really bad about it!!!

    I have just one question? Alongside this diet, can I undertake physical activity like treadmill walk for 30-45 mins during the 7 days ?? is it a good idea??? GM dieting and walking parallel – will it tire me out ?? would I be putting lots of stress on my body trying to do both at the same time? experts, pls advice…if walk is not recommended, will just stick to the diet alone…Please respond early, as I am planning for this diet early in a week or two’s time.

    • Brown rice is better and healthier. White rice will add unnecessary calories as 1 cup is about 693calories. If u use white, maybe have half a cup or less

    • The brown rice should be cooked and you make Tomoto curry without spicy and little bit salt. You can have one cup of rice in morning and afternoon.

      It is not wise to do the GM diet if you have diabeties. The first day which is full of fruits and the 4th day with banana and milk is dangerous for you. But, a friend of mine with a similar condition like you did something interesting and lost weight. She ate moderate regular food for breakfast and lunch with more vegetables, cabbage wonder soup and salad and 1 roti. At night she had only soup and some boiled vegetable and a small piece of fruit. She lost about 4 kgs in 15 days. I thought that was cool..

    Day 1 – Can we have unlimited fruits including apple? And do we have to break it into breakfast, Lunch or dinner or it can be had any time?
    Day 2 – Can we take boiled potato with salt or is it to be just boiled potato? And as mentioned do we have to take vegetable soups in lunch and dinner or vegetables?

Because in non – vegetarian diet, it is said that we need to take 8 bananas and 3 glasses of milk. And milk should be skimmed or semi – skimmed? And do we have to take it only in the breakfast or in lunch and dinner with soup also?
    Day 5 – 1 cup brown rice is for whole day or just a meal? and can we cook tomato and brown rice together so that it tastes good?
    Day 6 – Same question – do we have to eat the meal all day or just at the meal time?

    2) I would try and stick to the allotted meals as much as possible, one reason struggle with weight is they fail to eat most of the day and cram their meals in the last few ours.

  147. Mona your questions are tough to answer. 1 – honey is not allowed. You care just drinking calories and sugar.
    2 – water, the point is to drink water, it will be different for everyone, that’s why water rules are tough, like you always hear drink 8 glasses a day. In dieting yes, drink plenty, but don’t over do it. 3 – chapati has wheat, basically sugar to your body and is not mentioned at all in this diet. Hope this helps.

  163. Coconut oil is amazing actually bypasses the liver for digestion and has things in it that assist in weight loss. Never overdo it but yes have some ,it is 90% of what I use here.

      Here you go with the diet for Day 1 to day 7

      •Day 1. Only fruits. Just like in the regular GM diet, only fruits are allowed to be consumed on the first day. All fruits can be consumed in generous quantities except for bananas, as they are high in carbohydrates and potassium. Water intake should also be observed at 10-12 glasses during the whole day.
      •Day 2. The second day involves potato and vegetables. A cup of baked potato would serve as the body’s main energy source for the day, and then it can be followed up with vegetable dishes during lunch and dinner. Vegetable soup is highly powerful during this day, as it provides all the energy the body would need.
      •Day 3. Fruit and vegetables. Fruits and vegetables may be served the whole day, from breakfast to dinner, including midday snacks. Fruit juice can also be taken aside from water, although no bananas or potatoes are allowed.
      •Day 4. Bananas and milk. Banana and milk combos may be consumed all day, with vegetable soup servings during lunch and dinner. Banana and milk may be taken in the form of shakes, during breakfast and midday snacks.
      •Day 5. Brown rice and tomatoes. Instead of beef, brown rice is used on Day 5. One cup of rice is good to last for the day together with tomatoes in order to induce cleansing.

  193. khushbu bahgat – eat boiled potatoes, the same. Carrots? Well it appears you want them so go for it. But carrots have a different makeup to them than other veg. If you’r just eating a few then you should be OK. Your homemade fruit juice is full of fructose and your drinking all your calories without the fiber. NO good, sorry. You may want to Google this and study up on it some, but I suppose if you want your juice then you will do it anyway. But there is a reason it does not say go ahead and drink fruit juice on this diet.

My husband did it last year and said that the weight sheds on 6 or 7 day so you see the weight reduction on your last day. Is it true or the diet is not working for me?     First time i did nearly 4 months ago – I reduced 2.5 Kgs
    Second time i Did 3 months ago – I lost 3 kgs
    Third time i did 1 week ago- I lost 6 Kgs
    It is suggested that in between two diet programs there should be a gap of 2 weeks but just after 1 week i started again and today is my fifth day and – I lost 4 Kgs

    • Having banana with coconut and spices is one thing, but loading the already sweet banana up with milk and sugar. NO, NEVER and you may want to reconsider these things coming out of the diet. Milk has natural sugar in it, bananas tons of fructose, not to mention you added sugar. SORRY 🙂

Hi – I have been following thru this diet and I am confused about why brown rice is being prescribed for day 5 & 6 … how can it be a substitute for beef? brown rice is more carbs which get introduced on day 7 – shouldn’t beef be substituted with another protein like tofu, beans etc on day 5 & 6?

    • It does, but folks are quite picky and want to refine it down to just a few things, which is fine and up to them, Diet works best done right. If you want to use beans, tofu, etc fine, make sure it has some fat as beef would.

      • gotcha – yea I’ve sauteed tofu with very little canola oil so it does get some fat…thanks for the explanation….trying to follow diet as close as possible.

        • run from veggie and seed oils like that, go for olive, coconut and palm if you can 🙂

            btw – since we know this diet works – I would be (and probably others too) interested in knowing the theory/philosophy behind the diet….I know we just follow whats said for everyday but would be good to know exactly why this leads to reduced weight.

            Based on my understanding of it – it seems to essentially get us on significantly low carbs / low fat foods initially n then re-introducing carbs/fats in smaller portions but I’m sure there’s more to it than that.

    Goof ups can hurt – but happen. To me the biggest theory is think about what you are cutting. Refined carbs, sugars, white flour, you are eating meals as opposed to not eating all day and eating huge dinners and so on. There is balance to it. But the problem is, people just go back to their old lifestyle and think they can get away with it. I had to say to myself at some point, I am 41, I have to stop going back to what’s bad, ever since I did, my weight stays normal. It is awesome.

    You do want to work back in things slowly, but have to find a lifestyle that works. What I see here, and is common here people eat too much wheat breads.

    • You can have juice when it calls for juice in the sample plans for each day. To just drink carrot juice when you want is a bad idea, carrots are full of sugar, meaning when you juice them. So if you area juicer, please make carrot 1/8th of the juice, do greens and other veg as well.

  234. no not possible to get pre cooked food. a microwave has been provided in my hostel but that too is not sufficient enough to cook vegetables and soup…. i have one more question, with the help of gm diet we can loose up to 7 kg easily in a week, but what after we stop following this diet and come back to our normal diet.. am i going to put on the weight back which i lost ?? because this diet can’t be followed forever……

    • No it cant’ be followed forever, we do not promote that, it show you you need a lifestyle change and you need to make one. You can’ continue to eat the way you have forever or you will continue to get worse. Do you not see your normal diet made you unhealthy? Mine made me that way, I can’t go back…

        • the water may be a little low, but not everyone is meant to drink the same amount. did you eat any grains? Muesli? how many bananas? Please keep in ind not all diets work great the first time for everyone…

    • Should not so long as it did not have sugar and cream, but coffee before bed can be really bad as far as affecting sleep, circadian rhythms and eventually weight loss. Be careful when you eat and drink.

    Best fruits and veggies which helps in weight loss.
    Papaya, Melon’s (Musk, water sun etc), strawberries, blue berries, Kivi, Guava, Figs.

    we should know one thing is this is not permanent solution, real challenge is to mentation that weight. So what we can do is avoid rice during night have rotis or fruit bowl or something light and avoid fatty foods.

    • Actually not for most people, they have little health value, little nutrients and unless they are organic and not bleached and over processed, they are junk. Especially to those with thyroid issues and weight problems. Grains can be a huge issue, hence no grains on this diet, sorry.

    • make sure you get good fats, I will say if you have thyroid issues you should not eat gluten! No grains and make sure on the diet you include a little extra good fat like olive, coconut, palm or animal oils/fats.

  263. A) Look in the sidebar at the top, click each day, it tells you QTY. Day 4 examples, 4 to 5 bananas max all day.
    B) Beans OK, 1.5 cups cooked or so, you need at least a teaspoon of good oil with it for the fat. Meat has fat.
    C) Avoid anything we don’t mention. NO sugar, NO grains, etc. You can have spices, salt, tea with no sugar, etc…

      2) Yes you can have any dried herbs and spices you like, and salt/pepper.
      3) That is fine, and you need at least a teaspoon of oil, like olive oil, any time you replace meat you need some fat….

    • Please, if you feel sick back off. DO what your body is telling you, We are not doctors, just trying to say that if you feel sick don’t eat for the sake of the diet. Maybe try a banana or 2, something that sounds better on your belly.

    • tea is fine, no sweetener though. you can add oil to your veg/brown rice in replacement on meat, if you need some on your reg. veg days, a 1/2 teaspoon only.

    • Weight loss can vary. Are you doing anything additional? coffee with sugar? adding grains of any kind? what did you day 1 and 2 look like?

        • Well working off shifts yes can seriously affect weight loss, your circadian rhythms have a ton to do with it. But hang in there, there’s nothing you can do about that other than get back on 1st shift one day. That’s why you really need to be seriously healthy, you cannot afford to eat poorly.

          • I started my diet on saturday. So i had my diet as usual in the day shift. Still following the same way. But am following very strictly and eating healthy only.   285. hello, I just started the GM diet vegetarian, I’m vegan so I have no problems removing food. The only thing that worries me is the amount, I do sports and I need energy, and day 5, only a cup of rice and six tomatoes seems to me little by little throughout the day, I do not think I will arrive in the evening only with that food, I can eat rice also in the evening and many more tomatoes? (I eat brown rice and a cup converted into Italy is about 180 grams) correct me if I’m wrong.
    I also wanted to know the spices are granted? type pepper, nutmeg, etc..
    I guess the avocado and almonds are prohibited….

    • Well eating the meat is plenty of food, read the regular day 5 plan, do as follows and add a bowl of rice to each meat sub and try that. Also add a little oil to each dish. You can also have the soup. Spices are fine, almonds no and avocado no, on this diet of course.

    • eat balanced meals, a protein, lots of veg, you need a starch like some white rice or root veg (potatoes, yams, etc). If you are eating sugar, drinking sugared drinks and such it will cause issues. Also beware of grains.

  293. Today is my third day, the 1st day i have reduced 1 kg and the 2nd day amazing 700 gms. a total of 1.7kgs in 2 days.

    the second day i did not feel the fatigue to the extent what i felt on the first day, however was a little tired evening. had only vegetables. started with 2 medium sized baked potato and a little raw beans.

    had cucumber and tomato with me sliced to eat through the day, used to eat a slice whenever i felt uncomfortable.

    for lunch i had baked vegetables,

    Dinner was with raw beans,cucumber and tomatos. (intake was lesser when compared to the first day)

    feeling excited with this diet, looks really good.

    3rd day, today has started well with melons,cantaloup,cucumber,tomatos (all in small qty)

    sorry for asking a silly question about the uric acid in tomatoes! I believe we r taking the tomatoes to drain the uric acid out of the body & not to consume it, tomatoes themselves have less of it.

    • Tomatoes are great, unless you have SIBO (have issues with night shades). What you need to watch is sugar and wheat.

      3) salt, spices and herbs are yes OK.

    • steam them. no milk everyday, stick to the plan. bournvita is terrible for you and will never be a contributing factor to weight loss, but it will certainly help you gain weight.

    I finished my 7 days yesterday. I have lost 4 kilos in total!! That is very good considering that I have hypothyroid, was on anti-depressant medication for 1 1/2 years which made me gain weight.
    I am still not clear about how much cooked brown rice to take on day 7 because I measure in grams on a kitchen scale. Please can you give me the quantity to be taken per meal (2 meals for the day) in grams.

    I lost exactly 1 kilo each of fat, muscle & water while on the GM diet. I had done Body Composition Analysis before & after the 7 day vegetarian diet & this is the result. Is this expected or results can be better?
    One way to improve is by adding meat that I eat .. lamb, poultry, sea food on the days 5-7 so that I can increase chances of losing more fat & decrease the muscle loss.
    I don’t take beef. So please advise if any plan is available which includes these foods. I am regularly doing exercise. On the diet I did some moderate exercise on days 4 & 5 but felt light headed & a bit dizzy. So did not do workouts on 6-7 days.

      Those numbers even with that test can be off some. The key to me to this diet is to get people off of high grain and processed food diets. That is the real problem when it comes to you feeling light headed, not this diet. Your body will react to the fact you have cut sugar, processed foods, etc, It takes time for the body to adjust, some longer than others. Did you say you are looking for a diet plan to do after the diet? Yest hose proteins are a fine substitute for beef….

    It is one week break today since I finished my first round of GM-vegetarian diet. Feeling good, eating well & doing exercise.
    Yesterday I had samosa chat (yummy!) + some jalebis though. My favorite Indian snacks!
    I have gained about 1 1/2 kilos since the diet. But generally being careful of what I eat, also weighing the portions & counting calories.

    • Keep in mind you can eat lower calorie processed foods and grains and gain loads of weight. It’s great your trying a new start, but you really must look to all 100% whole natural foods. Good fats, balanced meals, etc. Counting calories will ruin your body over time, you are making a new set point in you body as to how your body deals with calories, once you lower, you will gain weight so easily if you ever increase calories. Your weight loss will also stop.

    • Yes, they are a little higher, however you can have some just don;t over do each of them. And post diet, keep your fruit servings to 2 or 3 a day next to some protein for balance. white rice is fine. salt and all spices and herbs are great, as are peppers. if replacing meat, the rice needs some fat with it.

    • Most people cannot go back to how they ate before, I certainly cannot. If I eat even really healthy and add some sugar, wheat, etc I gain weight. It’s not the fat and real foods that get to me. Here is what I have done and I have 100% lost all excessive weight. This is common plan for people that go really nutrient dense, sugar and gluten free. You can ask questions on the forum if you have any.

    • 3.5 liters of water is just to much to me, you are draining out out all of the good minerals in your body. add some coconut water in, or herbal tea not sweetened or you can have a little stevia.

    • was there sugar in the tea and coffee? what did you eat day 2? Coming off caffeine alone can cause headaches for a few days, not to mention detox from processed foods and sugar.

    • little is too much, if you want to lose weight and keep it off go sugar free. And gluten free to start. I would wait a few days and try again, make sure you follow the plan close. Example, day 2 you need the potato and butter or olive oil. Most people skip it and it’s a huge mistake. Hang in there 🙂

    • Yes you can have the wonder soup when you like, but homemade wonder soup not some canned veg soup full of junk and chemicals. NO NO on the oats, this is a gluten free plan and I can assure you oats will not help your weight loss right now. Please stick to the plan as much as possible.

      1) Yes, you can spice or season any dish as you like on any day. Peppers, salt, spices, herbs ,etc. White rice is fine as well and it needs good fat like ghee for example, beef has fat so should it’s replacement.
      2) Soya, ugh run from it. You can do legumes (better than rice), millet or quinoa.
      3) uncooked is how we measure.

    I am habituated to tea. if i don’t get tea in the moring and evening I would have headache.

    • yes on tea, no sweetener unless it’s stevia. yes no corn, no peas, no carrots or avocado. And BEANS are not a veg. Yes, drink water as you are thirsty. Pick another fruit for day 4, you will be fine. You may feel detoxy coming off sugar, gluten and processed foods the first day but should feel amazing after that.

    • it varies, how were you eating before the diet and how will you eat after will be the key. If you have thyroid issues I assume you know you have to be gluten and sugar free?

    • Yes you can, go to the bottom of the page and read the Indian plan.
      cooked is fine, or raw, also use salt, pepper, spices and herbs as you like.

    • it’s, measured uncooked, and you need to ad some fat to each dish because beef normally has fat. With the veg you get and you can have wonder soup there is plenty of food. Look at the Indian version, bottom of the site you will see a link, try that, you can have curd.

      Average weight loss seems to be around 9 pounds. You can have a few sprouts with your veg but no chana as you like. I think it’s best to lay off at least 2 weeks in between plans. We did, in the forum, add a post GM diet plan for those wanting to stay healthy after. It’s in the After 7 Days section, top 2 posts.

    • Instant rice is minute rice. Rice should not cook instantly. Yes, to me it’s far better than brown. Most folks in the health world agree.

    • That does not compensate for bad meals. That’s such a false view pushed by TV. Trust me, when you eat junk food, wheat, etc your body reacts severely especially if you have gluten sensitivities. And the effects can last days, over 3 weeks if you have food sensitivities. It has nothing at all to do with calories. If you maintain the mindset of oh well, I cheated, I will just work out more, you will trust me never lose weight. Sorry, these TV shows and magazines only do this for reader/viewership. Plus we have a culture that has ZERO desire to eat healthy foods every day, we want to cheat and justify doing so because we have family gatherings, or as I hear often it’s cultural. Trust me, there is nothing at all cultural about our trashed, genetically modified, over sugared food supply. Hang in there though 🙂

      First, the meals are fine. But day 5 was only 3 meals. Not 5!

      1) carrots are fine as a part of a balanced meal. They are technically higher in carbs. So they need to be limited. No corn and no peas as well. People literally tend to eat only those 2 veg, 2 of which are not vegetables. So I am trying to get people to diversify. NO, where did you read I said take honey in milk. I don;t even understand the concept of adding sugar (honey) to milk. Unless I wanted to gain weight.

      We give example of foods on each page, tomato can be raw or cooked. Vegetables for day 6, go local, what do you have. There has to be more than carrot, peas and corn. Curry is fine assuming you are using good fat like olive oil, ghee, or coconut oil. NO VEGETABLE oils. Your veg for day 6 and 7 can be cooked or raw. Also ROTI, no, once again unless you want to gain weight don’t eat wheat. White rice is fine as well instead of brown.

    • 1) Looks OK, ghee or good fat needed with potato. boiled cabbage better.
      2) Good
      3) Make sure you have 3 meals
      4) Day 5 and 6 rice meals need good fat to replace meat
      5) No fried foods. Also what oils are you frying foods in normally?

      Tea is fine no sweetener and some coconut water is good as well.

    • I would just start over.

      Cook the veg if raw is tough on your digestion.

      Sprouts are not vegetables, or the kind you likely mean. They are beans with a tiny sprout. So no on sprouts. They can be a meat replacement day 5 and 6.

  459. i am caught in a big problem i am a working girl n i have not informed my colleagues regarding my diet plan. today was my fourth day of gm diet and i planned to have banana and milk but one of our senior head was getting retired today and i had to go to the party. instead of making excuses for stomach upset they forced me to have chicken soup with corn and peas some starters and water melon with dal and steamed rice. what should i do??? if i have to give up the diet when can i start again??? can i start immediately from the next week??? please help…

    • Start over to me…. Wait a day or 2 then go from there. Keep in mind there will always be outside food influences. It’s OK to say no, it’s your health not theirs.

    I am on 4th day of my diet plan… All this while I was feeling pretty light and fresh but today (evening onwards) feeling bit weak though I had three glass of skimmed milk and 5 bananas… I will have cabbage soup for dinner… Can you suggest anything to avoid the weakness as I have to attend office meetings as well tomorrow.

    Further to this, I am planning to have brown rice tomorrow with beans… Can you pl le tm know in what form I will have to take the tomatoes and is there any restriction in quantity of tomatos! Also, what kind of legumes I can have and in what form… i.e. boild, cooked, roast ?

    • Eat the tomato how you like. Make sure you have good fat with each meal. take some coconut water or green tea (no sweetener unless it’s stevia). That can help with energy.

    • no milk unless it’s day 4. Coffee OK I guess no sweetener. Biscuits are fine only if you want to gain weight. Biscuits are the worst thing for you.

Today on the second day I had tomato soup in the brkfst and agn hd 1 roti and brinjal subji for Lunch.     • NO, it’s only 7 days, sorry. Other foods can fill like the soup, some raw veg snacks, etc. If you are eating roti, you will not lose or keep weight off likely, I’m sorry. If you eat wheat, I truly cannot help. I just don’t see how it would be possible. Sorry 🙁

    • have wonder soup. or some raw seasoned veg. You have options. You can sleep when you need. You will not retain your losses on any diet, no matter which one unless you change what caused you to gain.

    • 1 cup of rice all day measured uncooked, each meal needs good fat, 3 meals that day. Soup is fine as long as the ingredients are all OK.

  481. I am 40 yrs with 5.00 feet in height and weight is 60.8. My ideal weight should be 52 kg. Journey of my weight loss started from 18 October 14. At that time i was 64.6 kg. I started my GM diet on 13/12/14 till this date i managed to loss my weight up to 60.8 kg by exercising both in morning and evening for 1 hr each. I used to eat only roasted vegetables in the evening and 13 glasses of water throughout the day.
    Recipe of Roasted vegetables
    Take some Cauliflower, spinach, tomato, beans, capsicum roasted on micro oven for 4 min. Stir it and again roast for 2 min. Later i added salt, mixed herb ( basil, oregano, etc) one spoon flavoured cheese ( i like chilli flakes cheese)in it. On alternate day i add some paneer( cottage cheese) in last two min of cooking.
    You can add variety of vegetables of your choice.
    I followed following schedule by taking care of my Job. I used to pack 2/3 food boxes for whole day.
    1 DAY- My weight is 60.8
    On first day in morning i did cardio exercise (Treadmill at speed 5 and incline 8) for 60 min. First day was a fruit day and it was advised that to consume more melon and citrus fruits. I took fruits after every 2 hrs.
    Breakfast- watermelon
    Mid morning- Watermelon
    Before lunch- 1 orange
    Lunch- Melon
    Mid evening- one Guava and orange
    At 7pm- 1 cup black tea
    Dinner- 1 orange
    I took 15 glasses of water throughout the day. Though i am used to have fast once in a week on fruits and 2 cup tea, it was very difficult to pass my day without tea. From evening i started headache. After having black tea my headache gone. Whole day i felt tired but do not felt hungry.
    2 DAY weight-59.4kg
    2nd day morning i feel very fresh. Yesterdays feeling of tiredness was vanished. 2nd day was my rest day for gym. I took food after every 2 hrs
    Breakfast- 1 boiled potato, 1 cup black Tea.
    Mid morning- 1 bowl roasted vegetables.
    Lunch- 1 bowl salad of onion, tomato and cucumber.
    Dinner- 1 bowl roasted vegetables.
    I took 15 glasses of water throughout the day. 2 day i did not feel tired and hungry. Whole day i was enthusiastic and fresh.
    3 DAY weight- 59.1 Kg.
    3rd morning i done cardio exercises (Treadmill at speed 5 and incline 8) for 60 min. Morning was fresh though i could not get proper sleep in the night. I took food after every 2 hrs
    Breakfast- 2 slice of papaya, 1 bowl roasted vegetables, 1 cup black Tea.
    Mid morning- watermelon and papaya
    Lunch- Roasted vegetables.
    Evening- 1 guava
    Dinner- Roasted vegetables.
    In evening also i did cardio exercise (Treadmill at speed 5 and incline 8) for 50 min. I took 15 glasses of water throughout the day. 2 day i did not feel tired and hungry.
    4th DAY weight-58.2 kg.
    On 4th day morning I did standing jogging for 25 min. And 40 min Pilate yoga. I took food after every 2 hrs
    Breakfast- 1glass milk and 2 bananas
    Mid morning- 1 banana
    Lunch- 1 glass milk and 1 banana.
    Mid eve- 1 banana
    Evening-1 banana
    Dinner-1 glass milk
    At the end of day 6 bananas and 4 glass of milk make you full of stomach.
    In evening i did cardio exercise (Treadmill at speed 5 and incline 8) for 60 min. I took 16 glasses of water throughout the day.
    5th Day weight-57.5 kg.
    On 5th day morning i did stepper cycle exercise for 60 min. On 5th day i tried to consume 500 gm proteins. I took food after every 2 hrs. I prepared paneer( cottage cheese) bhurji with 2 tomatoes,capsicum,carrot,onion and cottage paneer and ate whole day. I took food at every 2 hrs.
    Breakfast- Sprout,1 tomato, cottage cheese( half bowl), 1 cup black Tea.
    Mid morning- Homemade Greek curd ( 1 katori)
    Lunch- paneer bhurji ( half bowl)
    Mid evening- paneer bhurji (1 Katori) 1 tomato
    Evening- paneer bhurji( 1 katori)
    Dinner- 2 tomatoes.
    Paneer bhurji kept me full of stomach.
    In evening i did cardio exercise (Treadmill at speed 5 and incline 8) for 60 min. . I took 16 glasses of water throughout the day.
    6th DAY weight- 57.7 kg
    On 6 th day i could not lose weight. I think i ate paneer bhurji in excess quantity. After having paneer bhurji you don’t feel hungry till maximum time. But my habit is to eat at every 2 hrs interval that might lead me to eat paneer bhurji more. So in my opinion on 6th day one should eat paneer bhurji according to their appetite as our stomach gets in the habit of taking less food.
    Today morning i started my day as usual with half spoon of Triphala with 2 glass of warm water. I did cardio exercise (Treadmill at speed 5 and incline 8) for 60 min. Today i feel less energy while completing my exercise.
    Breakfast at 9 am- sprout mixed with paneer ( half Katori). 1 cup of black Tea.
    Midmorning at 12 pm- Sprout mixed with roasted vegetables. At the time of eating i squeeze 1 lemon.( 1 katori)
    Lunch- Sprout mixed with roasted vegetables (half Katori)
    Mid evening- Sprout mixed with roasted vegetables (half Katori)
    Dinner- roasted vegetables
    In evening i did cardio exercise (Treadmill at speed 5 and incline 8) for 55min. . I took 16 glasses of water throughout the day.
    7Th day weight-57.1 kg
    I could lose 3.6 kg up to 7th day. Tomorrow morning i may lose more weight. Today morning i started my day as usual with half spoon of Triphala with 2 glass of warm water. i did cardio exercise (Treadmill at speed 5 and incline 8) for 60 min. Today also i feel less energy while completing my exercise.
    Breakfast:- Juice of 1 apple+ 1 slice of Papaya.
    Lunch- Brown rice with vegetables.
    Its afternoon and remaining day has to be passed. I thought if i continue my exercise regime during GM diet, i would be able to lose more weight. My Diet of 5th day spoiled my target.

      Old habits likely mean you will gain more weight. Rice does not have to be the enemy within a balanced meal. Balanced meaning you need protein and good fat along with lots of good veg. 2 major keys would be wheat and sugar free.

    • I agree on the perfect diet. Thanks for sharing that. Beware though of working out too much. The oxidative stress is too much for the body. Consider Burst type training and give your body a break. You will look just as fit and actually be 100 times more fit internally. Sure beware of too many calories, however it’s not about that. I never care about my calories. If I am eating pure foods and a pure diet it make no difference. I do watch my carbs. I keep it varies, between 100 and 175. This has resulted in me easily reaching my normal weight.

    • wheat will ruin you health and cause massive weight gain. So yes I would say you went off plan just about as bad as you possibly can. Not to mention how terrible Subway is with their fake chemically filled meats. Sorry, you cannot lose weight and get healthy like this.

    Day 1: I had 1 cucumber and a little papaya for breakfast, a pear and some grapes for mid-day meal, good amount of water-melon and a glass of lemon water(only lemon mixed in water) for lunch, some Pomegranate in the evening, and some more water-melon and orange for dinner. Had increasingly intolerable headache throughout the day due to lack of caffeine. Water consumed: 7/2 litres.
    Day 2: I had a big boiled potato with 1/2 tsp ghee, a little bit of salt and pepper for breakfast, a bit of cabbage salad(cabbage+lemon) and coconut water for mid-day meal, boiled mixed vegetables(capsicum, cabbage, ladiesfinger, cauliflower and some spices) for lunch, Raw papaya(the hard one, not sweet) in the evening, and some of that Wonder Soup for dinner. Water consumed: 4 litres
    Day 3: Papaya for breakfast, cabbage salad for mid-day meal, Water-melon and sweet-lemon for lunch, boiled mix vegetables in the evening, some pomegranate for dinner. Water consumed: 4 litres
    Day 4: 2 small bananas and a glass of cool skimmed milk(sugarless) for breakfast, 1 chopped banana with lemon and salt and spice for mid-day meal, 1 small banana and 1 glass of skimmed almond milk(sugarless) for lunch, 2 small bananas in the evening, and 1 glass of skimmed almond milk(sugarless) for dinner. Water consumed: 7/2 litres.
    AT THE END OF DAY 4, I had already LOST 3 KGS!!
    Day 5: Some boiled rice with 3/4 tsp ghee and one chopped tomato with lemon and spices for breakfast, 1 cucumber and lemon water for mid-day meal, 1 cucumber and 2 tomatoes with lemon and spices for lunch, some more boiled rice(to take the total intake close to 1 cup for the day) and 2 boiled tomatoes in the evening, and I’ll eat one tomato after I post this question. The headache due to lack of caffeine seems to have vanished completely today. Total rice intake: 1 cup measured uncooked. Water consumed: 6 litres!!

    Now I have a few doubts about day 6 and day 7. How does the following plan look?

    Day 6: A little bit boiled rice with 3/4 tsp of ghee and mix-veg salad(cabbage, cauliflower, cucumber, lemon and spices) for breakfast, 1 glass of lemon-water for mid-day meal, a little more boiled rice with 3/4 tsp of ghee and sprout salad in the afternoon, and mix veg salad for dinner. Total rice intake: 1 cup measured uncooked.

    Day 7: Some rice with 3/4 tsp of ghee and salad(chopped cucumber, tomato, onions, coriander, lemon and spices) for breakfast, orange juice(sugarless) and cucumber and tomatoes for mid-day meal, some more boiled rice with 1/2 tsp of ghee with some mixed-veg for lunch, tomato soup in the evening and some boiled rice with 1/2 tsp of ghee, and lots of water-melon for dinner. Total rice intake: 3/2 cups measured uncooked.

    Please suggest if you think I need to make any changes to this.
    Also, I am doing this week without any exercise. Will probably give me a rough idea about the difference when I’ll also be working out with the plan. Is it ok if I give a gap of 2 weeks before the next iteration, as I need to lose at least 25 more Kgs asap?

    • day 7, use less ghee. the rest looks really good actually. 2 week gap is great also. if you do workout the first 4 days just keep it light. You plan looks great, thanks for sharing it.

        We have one other doubt.

        They’re asking about the protein on Day 5 and 6. Rice and ghee substitutes beef, but does it provide enough protein?

        As much as I love having rice, I could not defend having rice and getting enough protein. Can we decrease the quantity of rice to say 1/2 a cup on each of these days and include some more sprouts? If so, then what is the maximum amount of sprouts that we can have on these days? If not, please suggest some other alternative.

        • Well nothing replaces meat, not even legumes. Legumes are carby, meat is not. legumes, the protein does not uptake as well as beef and is not the same as far as how the body can use. So for vegetarians you have to do your best. Eggs are great, 3 per meal max. You can have all sprouts, please read the vegetarian version at the bottom of the site, we say that there. The minimum amount of sprouts is the same as rice. We never said rice is a good sub. Nothing can replace good grass fed meat as far as nutrition and protein. However we must have a vegetarian option and soy is a terrible choice.

            This is EPIC!! 4.25 kgs in 5 days without any exercise!!
            I wish I had tried it properly before!
            I guess it’s better late than never.
            This motivates me to start exercising regularly after this diet ends, so that I can maintain similar rate of weight loss in the next couple of iterations when I do them the same way with exercise.

    • dried herbs and spices if they are pure are OK.

    I am doing Gm diet for 2nd time but last time was not that great I might have lost 2-3 kg only . So can you suggest where I need to change it this time so that I can achieve more.
    Day 1 : I had fruits (water melon, apple , papaya and pineapple )
    Day 2: I had boiled potato (without ghee or any oil), lettuce and cucumber in lunch and evening tomato and in dinner I made soup with (broccoli, cabbage,tomato, onion and garlic )
    Day 3: mix of day 1 and 2 without potato
    Day 4: 5-6 banana and milk
    Day 5: I had 6 tomato with kidney beans (rajma ) in dinner and lunch with little oil . In breakfast I had 3 egg white .
    Day 6: no tomato had sprouts and tofu cooked in little oil .
    Day 7: had brown rice veg pulao. and some fruits.

    I had green tea without sugar at times and food was cooked in rice bran oil .

    So please suggest if any thing needs to be changed or need to be added so get better results.

    • Day 4: 4 bananas.
      Day 5: egg whites. You needed the whole egg.
      Day 6: No tofu, it’s not a health food. Stick with whole eggs or legumes.
      No rice bran oil. Bad move there. Ghee or coconut oil best
      You results last time were still good 🙂

        • Legumes better than rice. However do either, just make sure each meal has good fat. wonder soup any day for sure yes. kakdi is OK. days 5 and 6 it is mandatory

  531. Hi I started this diet 2 days back..
    I had the following menu
    Day1: breakfast – half apple and half pear, mid morning-1bowl water melon, lunch – 1bowl musk melon, snacks – few pieces of guava and orange, dinner – 1bowl water melon.
    Day2: breakfast -1large potato with butter, mid morning -1glass buttermilk, lunch – 1bowl wonder soup, snacks -1bowl carrot cucumber salad, dinner – I couldn’t resist eating idlis, so had 3 idlis and little bowl of wonder soup
    Day3 : breakfast – felt very hungry, so again I had two idlis with sambar, mid morning – 1bowl water melon, lunch – boiled broccoli, capsicum, and cauliflower, few cucumber, snacks – 1small bowl musk melon, dinner – boiled beetroot, cabbage and broccoli.

    Since I have not followed properly please let me know if I can continue with this diet.. will i be able to loose weight still? Or should I stop it?
    please respond asap so that I will be prepared for tomorrow..
    actually I am a 30 year old female with 155cm height and 56kg weight.. I just want to loose only my tummy fat.. so let me know if this diet plan will help me or should I follow something else to reduce only tummy fat..

    • Why are you drinking buttermilk? idlis? sorry start over. You cannot lose weight like this, sorry. there are things you can do, however if you cannot even do this, you need to prepare more mentally. hang in there

    Day 6
    Bf : Vegitables / 3 egss.
    lunch :paneer with mix veg (with ghee).
    evening dont know what to eat?
    dinner : will have chic peas or suggest something.

    bf: apple
    lunch brown rice pulao.
    evening : fruits
    dinner again brown rice.

    So please suggest If I am going right or need to change anything.

    It is my 5th day. Feeling light and slightly reduced waists since my regular pants are loose fit now 🙂 . On day 4 I checked my weight and was 1.5 kgs reduced from start, but today when i weighed it showed 300gm more than yesterday. Have not done any cheating adn strictly following diet.
    My clarifications:
    1. While cooking vegetables I use 1/4 teaspoon canola oil, half sppon t salt and half t spoon pepper. Is it allowed?
    2. I am not sure if I ate more panner on day 5. I would have taken some 20small cubes of panner of 1cmx1cm size. Will these be retarding my weight loss?? should I do any alteration.
    What can i have instaed of brown rice can try white rice and reply on the remaining dishes for Day 6&7 i have to accelerate my weight loss. Pls advise.
    Note: I have been drinking 3L of water minimum daily

    • 1) bad move, canola oil is just bad for you, it’s a terrible oil. Salt, pepper, dried herbs and spices are all great.
      2) Well what did you eat all of day 5? white rice is actually better.

      All sounds OK, 3 liters of water can be a bit too much so lessen if you like.

    I had panner 20 cubes, half cabbage, 3 tomatoes half onion and 50gm lettuce &corrainder leaves boiled in water with half spoon of salt, halfspoon pepper and spoon of boiled dhal.

    The same with more liquid i had as soup in morning, after 1hrs a lime t with honey 1spoon.
    Lunch the same mixture as semy gravy.
    The remaining of same stuff (cooked in morning) i will have for dinner with 2 more tomatoes if reqd.

  536. Its my second time on gm diet, i hate days 5, 6,7, i start gaining after 5th day, i lost 3 kgs in 4 days but after 5th day i gained 0.5 kg, same happen when i did diet for first time, is it cause of paneer???

      • is this what you ate day 5? if so you are not following the program correctly at all. rice is not your issue looking at this list. best to eat whole fruit then juice.

    My question is I lost weight mostly in first four days.
    On my 5,6 day I ate Rajama with little bit of brown rice.
    and on fourth day Brown rise with Vegetables.
    And I have not prepared Wonder soup.Should I include the wonder soup for best results I will start second iteration of GM diet after 3 days.and In-place of Rajama Egg max 9 for day 5,6,7
    Day 7 should be brown rice compulsary or can ear sprouts.
    Please suggest.

      day 4 why did you eat rice?
      wonder soup yes can help. what goes in your rajama? please read day 7 carefully. eggs yes are best days 5 and 6. 3 max per meal.

        • Well, many things can. Overeating sugar, junk carbs like wheat, too much protein, so be careful… Day 1 you may need mostly veg and just a little fruit if you proceed.

    I am on my 4 th day of GM diet, I mistakenly took 4 tomatoes today instead of Day 5. is that ok? Should I take tomatoes again on day 5.

    • sure take on day 5 also, no worries on day 4. no wheat, not unless you want to hurt your health and gain weight. please look at the bottom of the site and read the vegetarian and Indian version. when do you weigh? what did you eat day 2? so far look at what you are asking it does not seem like you may be following it well.

        On day one – I had mixed fruits, pineapple, pomegranate, papaya,melons, most fruits except bananas, mangoes, grapes and cheekus , I put some salt and spices on fruits

        On day two – I have vegetable salad, both boiled and raw vegetables with some spices. I had vegetable soup for lunch and dinner

        On day three- I ate mixed fruits with raw vegetables along with two times vegetable soups

        On day four- I had one glass of amul slim trim milk with one banana and through out the day i had 2 bananas and at night one glass of amul slim trim milk with one banana. During the day I had 5 tomatoes.

        On day five – I had one bowl of grated panner with roasted vegetables (without oil). Kindly note that it was not one bowl of paneer entirely, paneer must not have been more than 70-80 grams. I also had 3 tomatoes

        I had one black coffee as well on day five and I am expected to have veg soup for dinner along with boiled vegetables.

        I checked my weight at the end of day 3, I did not found any change in the same.

        Apart from above I walk on treadmill daily for 35 min and burn average of 250 calories per day.

        I have not breached prescribed thus far. Kindly guide me if i have gone wrong anywhere or what should I do to better this program.

        What shall be my diet for day 6 and day 7?

        Again I appreciate your great service in keeping people healthy.

          2) no potato for breakfast with good fat, huge mistake. this will affect your loss.
          3) seems good
          4) good
          5) day 5 if you replace meat, meat has fat so your replacement meals should. you are not losing well because of day 2 though. I suggest legumes/chickpea based meal with veg and good fat day 6.
          day 7 it is as we wrote it for everyone.

            • There can be weight loss every day. you should not do that much treadmill the first 3 or 4 days with no protein to rebuild muscles. If you workout every day when does your body have time to recover and heal? day 5? I assume you had 3 meals and good fat? if so it is fine. day 6, same as day 5 what I said. day 7, read it on the site, it should be exactly like that. Good luck 🙂

      • As per India diet plan, I can have curd (low fat) on day 5 & 6, so i just blended it with water today..
        Day 3 I had Melons, Apple & watermelon in fruits and salad of Lettuce, tomatoes, onion, capsicum & Cucumber..
        Yes day 5 I had 3 meals having some fat contained.. I added little butter in sprouts & sauted tomatoes in olive oil… And did weigh in evening..
        How shd I go ahead for Day 6 & 7?

        • correct on days 5 and 6 with curd.
          Keep going as planned. However you cannot weigh in the evening. That’s the issue. Your true weight is in the morning, before you eat or drink after going potty.

    • Same prob with me, according to the diet every day loss, but i starts gaining on some days, i follow this strictly, still i gain on day 2,5,6. Don’t know why

  549. I have followed this diet previously 2 times and lost 15 lbs..
    Could live off of salad during very cold winter so did not do it for 5 months.
    I did not gain weight as long as I eat all not Healthy ( fried) food in limited quantities.
    Like I eat big bowl of salad or soup and after that I eat “non-healthy” food that controls intake of them or make pudla instead of Pakora (indian ).
    I try to have half of my intake for a day as Fruits/Veg tables even after finishing diet.

    Now I started again I am on my day 3 and lost 3lbs already.

    My final goal is to loose 25 lbs all togather.. and I am almost there…

    This works if you follow it strictly and do take care of your food even after finishing it.
    If you start eating all fried or non healthy food by being slave of your cravings. you will gain back your weight. ( I have that experience too.)

    I am going on Cruise in 3 months and I hope to wear all my lovey outfits that I can’t fit into right now..

    If you are reading this and don’t think just start it. You will have cravings for salty food for 1st day. But after that it will be awesome. You will see glow on your face because of all the healthy food you are eating.. Ok. Going for Grocery shopping as eat all my veggies yesterday and don’t have anything to make my salad for lunch today.. 🙁

    • legumes./sprouts I would do or eggs if you eat those. uncooked 1 cup but do sprouts and add some good fat to each dish. season as you like 🙂

    • 1) yes can be common, the first 3 days of this plan are more detox. so do not over workout, drink coconut mater if you can or some tea with stevia or plain.
      2) The potato should have helped some with good fat. You may not digest raw foods well so cook your food. Most people are not use to this much veg and fruit, they are more used to wheat and processed foods.

  557. After following this diet twice, I managed to lose 8 kgs in total. I had posted my diet before and you had kind of approved it.
    But after that, I couldn’t do it for around 45 days due to work pressure.
    I’m doing it again now, Have lost 3 kgs in 3 days. Nice, right?
    I am facing an unexpected problem now:-
    The last two times when I did it, I used bananas and ‘skimmed’ milk for day 4.
    I’ve been looking for it since 2 days, but I just can’t find ‘skimmed’ milk in our little town(I know it’s a shame!!)
    It’s been 6 hours since I woke up. I had half a liter of water, went to the gym, drank 1/2 liter water again, had a banana after another 3/2 hours, went to the shop and had another banana after an hour.
    What should I do about the milk?
    I think I can survive without milk for the day, but I doubt if that would be the right thing to do, would it? If not, please help!!

      I managed to find milk powder for the same product I used to have before.
      Although half the day’s already over, I’m now prepared for the next five iterations of the diet plan.

      One small question about day 5. Can I have more than six tomatoes on day 5?

    • you can use regular milk or a lower fat milk no issues

        Another issue that I just faced:-
        Upset Stomach. I increased my water consumption rate after this and I just had some lemon water with salt, but it did not help.
        I might have to take some electrolytes to fix this. Unfortunately, the electrolytes available here can be a bit sweet. I’ve had two glasses of low fat milk and 4 small bananas till now.
        If I end up fixing my stomach problem tonight using electrolytes (a bit sweet), do you think I should continue with days 5, 6 and 7?

        • Keep rolling and try not to drink too much water. Drink 1.5 liters, whatever. More is not better necessarily. The key is not UNDERdrinking. Hence coconut water is OK, lemon in the water, etc.

        • It does not hurt anyone else… It’s all a part of the plan…. day 3 yes was a mistake that can mess up several days, you just have to finish and see how it goes.

    • you need a week or 2 wait in between plans, try and stay gluten and sugar free during that time.

        • Any detox diet or 90 plus percent of diets there can be muscle loss but not like you think, the detox process here is 3 days only (most detox diets are much much longer, this diet is not for that reason to be safer). So it’s actually really nice to get the best of the detox portion yet it not be long enough to really cause any muscle loss. They are causing panic for ZERO reason with little backing or understanding of things here. So yes you will lose some water weight, possibly a little muscle (maybe not really) and then mostly fat.

    • what did you eat day 2? When do you weigh?

      • Usually we check weight at nyt before going to bed..
        On day 2 i taken 1 potato and boiled vegitables like cabbage, carrot, capaicum,califlower and cucumber.
        Any thing i need to change on day 4 or 5

        • OH, well there ya go. you cannot weigh unless it’s in the morning, after going to the bathroom before you eat or drink a thing. well you needed good fat day 2 on the potato. so keep rolling….

    Yes, It works. I cannot express the level of joy that m feeling at this moment.
    Today is my last day of Diet plan.

    Now I need some input from you to overcome some of the doubts that I am having regarding post diet life.

    1. I want to repeat this diet but it seems that I feel a little fatigue if I dont take salt and sugar atleast in smaller amounts. It seems this is my requirement.
    2. I am feeling slight weakness so should I continue this diet plan in future.
    3. With this diet I do not have extra energy to complete my household work. Can you suggest good options to maintain energy levels.
    4. What should be my diet after 7 days so that I do not gain back. (Please provide answers in detail)

    • 1) well sugar is pure junk and ruins your health, You may get a false high (dopemine levels increase) from it, but it’s pure junk. You need salt, why not have salt?
      2) sick how? You need at least a 2 week break any way.
      3) You should have energy. Your energy may drop the first day or 2. perhaps too much water and no salt was stripping your body of vital minerals.

    • is it balanced, meaning lots of good veg, you do not eat too much per meal? how much are you eating a day of it or how many times? where does your protein come from. beans are not a great source.

    If Rice is not a good option can I have chapatis(wheat roti) on a daily basis twice a day 2 chapatis in each meal with vegetables.
    And how about low fat curd and buttermilk?

    • not milk, no buttermilk, cheese products yes days 5 and 6. Wheat is not a real viable option, only to assist in gaining weight so no there. 1/4 cup of curd or so per meal.

    • When did you weigh your first time to check your starting weight? What did you eat days 2 and 3? You cannot weigh at night, that is not your true weight at all, you are weighing food, water and body waste. You will drive yourself nuts like that.

    • I always respond, are you sure about that? Look on day 5. I answer this question at least 3 times a week. Just pick another veg, no corn or peas though 🙂

    • hello, we don’t recommend soya, such a dead and over processed food. cottage cheese assuming it has some good fat about a 1/4 cup per meal. You can spice and enjoy your food as you normally like. So Asian style great

    • 1) they are a legume so days 5 and 6 yes with good fat if you like instead of rice or mix.
      2)Snacks only soup. you eat veg and beans or rice. simple as that. 3 meals. each meal needs good fat. you can however do 3 eggs max per meal as well.

    • whole eggs.
      the meals up to you, more eggs or rice with good fat. perhaps legumes with good fat. 3 meals only. snacks can be wonder soup or raw/cooked veg.

If you plan to exercise during the diet, you cannot do heavy weights and heavy workouts (We state this on the Exercise page), you need to have the correct amount of protein. The first 4 days of this diet do not have protein, so your exercise you be very light. You cannot tear muscle down without something to build it up. Thanks You
