Is there a Indian vegetarian version of the GM Diet

General Motors has had a very long presence in India, close to 10 years I think  – first with GM Opal cars and then with the Chevy series. But the GM diet has been popular with the Indians even before the GM Cars. If you do some simple Google searches, you will find out that there is a lot of interest and a lot of people searching for GM Diet Indian and Vegetarian versions.

So why the rush of people searching for the GM Diet/General Motors diet ?  Simple: It works. On GMDietWorks.com, we have listed a very detailed GM Diet Indian version specially for Indians looking to get on board. The diet plan is both vegetarian and uses only food items that an Indian can identify with.

While the diet is mostly vegetarian – maybe 90% vegetarian, it goes off track for a vegetarian on day 5 – with its predominant Beef diet. If you are a vegan/vegetarian – substitute Beef with Dhal/Lentils/Garbanzo/CheckPeas/Chana – basically, any kind of beans/legumes are good – idea is to consume something with lots of protein and fiber.

But watch out – do not overdo the beans since you are on a diet – you could run into constipation problems.   Always combine vegetables with Dal/Beans so that the food moves through and always remember to consume lots of water.

  1. Not such a good idea to go all out on all kinds of dried beans…they are too high on calories.
    Try Tofu it works just right. May be sautee Tofu with other vegetables!

    • diet changes and detox can do that to some folks, underlying gut issues, etc potentially. don’t take meds unless you ask a doc. i normally just go with a pure fiber supplement or some herbals teas that are meat to help.

If you plan to exercise during the diet, you cannot do heavy weights and heavy workouts (We state this on the Exercise page), you need to have the correct amount of protein. The first 4 days of this diet do not have protein, so your exercise you be very light. You cannot tear muscle down without something to build it up. Thanks You
