Moong Dal and Channa Dal Kosambari

Moong dal and Channa Dal are great ingredients to use when you are on a diet. This combination works really well especially if you are on the GM Diet.

Moong Dal Channa Dal Kosambari


  • 1/4 cup Yellow Split Moong Dal (soaked for 3 hrs and drained).
  • 1/4 cup channa Dhal (soaked for 3 hrs and drained).
  • 1 medium Cucumber, peeled and finely chopped
  • 2 medium Carrot, grated
  • 1 tbsp Coriander, chopped
  • 1 tsp. Lemon Juice(optional)
  • 1/2 tsp Ginger, grated
  • 2 Green Chillies, chopped
  • Salt to taste


In a bowl take drained moong dhal & channa dhal, cucumber, carrot, coriander, ginger,green chillies, lemon juice and salt in a bowl &Serve cold.

Note: Once again, salt and lemon juice should be added before serving. Once added it will remove the juice from cucumber and carrot and you avoid the bitter taste.

  1. hi just a concern about lentles and chickpea on the vegetarian diet. R we allowed lentles and chickpea and if yes on what days?

  2. Can we have channa dal in day 2?
